Bursa is a city in Turkey's Marmara region known for its cultural richness. The history of the city goes back thousands of years and bears traces of many civilizations.

The historical roots of Bursa date back to our era. It dates back to the 2000s. During this period, important civilizations such as the Lydians, Hittites and Phrygians ruled the region. However, the real significance of Bursa emerged during the period of the Roman Empire.

The city, which came under the rule of the Roman Empire in the 2nd century, showed great development as a commercial center. Commercial activities carried out during the Roman period increased the importance of Bursa.

Bursa came under Islamic influence when the Arabs conquered the region in the 7th century. However, the real historical transformation began when it was captured by the Seljuk Turks in the 11th century. During the Seljuk period, Bursa became an important Turkish city and continued its development.

However, the most important turning point for Bursa came when Osman Bey, the founder of the Ottoman Empire, conquered the city in 1326. Osman Bey made Bursa the capital. Bursa, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, has undergone great transformation and has become the location of many historical and cultural monuments.

During the Ottoman period, Bursa showed great development in terms of architecture. Important structures such as the Ulu Mosque, Yesil Mosque and Tomb, Bursa Castle and the Grand Bazaar were built during this period.

In addition, Bursa became famous for its silk production and trade and became an important center of the Ottoman Empire.

Although the importance of Bursa has slightly decreased with the transfer of the capital of the Ottoman Empire to Istanbul, it is still known as a historically and culturally important city.
